My Go-To Green Longer-Length Blazer

October 26, 2017

For the past couple of weeks, I have mentioned and showed in one way or another my love for the green colour. And I am still saying that green is my colour of the season if not my colour of 2017. Over the weekend, I was going through the looks I have photographed which are still to be featured; and out of the ten looks, five of them had something green. But what I love about them is that even though there are elements of green in the outfits, they look so different. They each portray a different side of my aesthetic. There are playful ones and formal ones alike. I cannot wait for you to see them for yourself.
Now on to this look, the “something green” is this oversized longer-length blazer I thrifted about 2 years back or so. I know sometimes I hoard and collect things that may be outdated but I love it nonetheless. I even had my younger brother (photographer) discourage me from putting it on at one time but I still pushed for it because it is bold and the colour is not always accessible in stores.
So let me tell you about my love for this blazer. I bought it second hand from a seller on Instagram. The first time I put it on, my dear brother asked me where I got it from for it looks like something from the 60s lol. I was so heartbroken that something that I love so much someone else could dread it that much nor even overlook its imperfection. So I made a pact then that I will wear it so much until he starts seeing the potential it has to making one’s look that special. You would be surprised to know that after our session, he was already changing his mind. He even said that it added to the outfit and complemented it well . Now I have managed to sway his thoughts.
