Floral Head To Toe

December 01, 2017

Seasons greetings to you and yours! This is a joyous time which most of us look forward to year in and year out. More so now when you have had a hectic couple of months leading to the year end; now all you want to do is wake up whenever you feel like it and do nothing. I am at this point because I appreciate my weekends and off days more as it is becoming a drag to go to work. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and all but I am exhausted. It has basically been a long year. And naturally I am bound to be fatigued or so I tell myself...
A couple of weeks ago I wore this outfit to the official opening of the theStorer in Fourways. I have written a blog post with some gorgeous pictures of what they have to offer which you can see here. Everyone not only loved the outfit but also thought it was a dress. This is actually a skirt and a top hence I felt I needed to retake the shots as I did not have anyone to take pictures of me then. I know some have already asked me about this matching set, saying you are struggling to get the top. When I got it, the items had just arrived and being unpacked in store when I walked in. Just keep your eye on the Mr Price website as we all all know they always bring items back in stock at least 3 times. The great thing about this outfit is that it only cost about R300. Again it goes to show that one need not spend an arm and a leg to have a somewhat decent outfit on their back. I paired it with my old and trusted Zara mustard chunky heel shoes and this bag from downtown JHB. Oh before I forget, this print also comes in a dress so that is an option you can go for if you do not want the separates.
Ever since I discovered small-street (thanks to my colleagues) I have been frequenting hidden gems also known as the stores 😉 to see what I can get for less than a 5th of what an original item would cost. What I love about small street finds is that they are not branded items at all but you can see that they are inspired items from high end luxury brands. So until I can afford to splurge on a luxury piece, I will still frequent small -street to satisfy that feeling of having the style of item without putting a dent to my pocket. I know the quality will never be the same but I appreciate them nonetheless.
