Let me first say
that this outfit was definitely way out of my comfort zone. Those around me
will tell you that I am more of a striking print and bold colours kind of a
person. I am not afraid of experimenting with colour on any given season of the
year. In fact one of my colleagues Abdul says that he looks forward to his
mornings at work because “you look like a rainbow because of the way you wear
colourful clothes” lol. However don’t let that statement create this multitude
of colours jumbled in one outfit. I still do it tastefully balancing out the
bold prints with something with a colour to cut through the “mess”. Maybe I
should do a post and show what I am talking about. But for now, here is my
outfit that I never really thought I would be able to pull off but I did.
The
weather in most parts of Gauteng has been unpredictable lately. You go to work
dressed for a beautiful sunny day and by midday it is overcast and raining non-stop.
Or somedays you go to work prepared for the biggest storm; just as you psyche
yourself and you say bring it on, it gets so hot that you can walk around with
just your undies and you will be fine.
This is
one of those outfits that I wore to work on a really overcast day and I was
meeting a friend of mine for dinner that evening. Knowing that I would not have
time to pass by the house, I decided to overdress with the jacket, boy was that
not the biggest mistake of my life. But you know God does not rejoice when his
children suffer, as the evening approached it got chilly and I managed to save
my face and justify my decision.Luckily for me I could still take off the jacket and still look presentable with the pencil skirt and the shirt alone.
Hello all! Firstly thank you
for taking your valuable time to visit my page, I appreciate it.
Now
where do I even begin with this post? This blog site has been years in the
planning. In fact I have started and taken down a couple of blog sites before.
The reason being?
I
have been finding it difficult accepting my new body. Being a plus size blogger
was never part of my plan let alone the image I wanted the world to know me by.
I have been struggling with my weight ever since I was young, however over the
past couple of years things have just got worse.
Realizing
that I needed to accept my new body or change it to fit the life of the lady I
want to be was the biggest step I had taken. I now know and acknowledge that
physical beauty starts within and ooze out hence I am not going to wait for the
day I am going to be a size 34 again to finally commit to blogging. I have
decided to share my love of fashion with the world because that is my passion
and what drove me to starting a blog and not my size. I hope you will find the
looks I will be documenting
inspirational.
