I
have been a fan of vintage wear for some time now and today's look definitely channels that. This look was inspired by Karen's fall transition blog post which you can find on wheredidugetthat.com . She wore this gorgeous colourful dress and paired it with this chunky cardigan in green; I am mentioning only these pieces because they were the main items that inspired today's look. Since the time she featured this look on her blog, all I could think of was how could I recreate this look in my own way. I picked the colours that resonated with me and I built my look on that.
About 6 months ago I bought this shirt from a second hand vintage wear seller on Instagram. I mean this print is gorgeous and speaks volumes, who could resist it? So the fact that it was missing some buttons did not put me off. As soon as I got it, I sewed in the missing buttons and washed it well. Then I started experimenting with different looks and this was one of the outcomes. This shirt reminded me of Karen's dress seen on this picture above. Then I complemented the outfit with brown accessories. I am sure by now if you have not noticed or even heard me say before, blue and brown are my favourite colours. Most of the looks I have featured either have something blue or brown.
Lastly I had to do the red lip because if you seriously want to command attention or take your look up a notch; red is the way to go. There is just something about this colour that you cannot help but look at it. If you are into vintage wear, you can check these (Tiffany M Battle, Karolina Zebrowska) ladies' blogs or youtube channels, you will look at vintage wear or even mixing prints in a different light. Basically you will be changed forever!
