Have We Become A Society Of "I Know It All"?
May 28, 2017
I was
having a conversation with someone the other day about people being so
defensive about their space; what they do and say without listening to others or even trying to understand what is being said or pointed out to them. Have
we become a society of “I know it all, you cannot tell me anything I do not
already know; I have been there done that so who are you to tell me otherwise”?
This is
very prevalent especially in the work environment and in relationships. I find
that we have become very quick to judge and conclude without really
understanding what is being raised. I used to be one of those that before comprehending
what’s being said, I am already defending what I did or might have said. It is
easy to believe everyone or the world is against you, or people just want to
bring you down; or better yet they want to make you look stupid! But in all honest truth,
they are trying to make you reflect on your doings or to help you better
yourself.
I know I can be naive or ignorant at times but is this a
new phenomena or this has always been the case? Are we are a bunch of Miss/Mr know it all(s)? I find that as I get older, I am
doing a lot of introspection and digging deeper within with the intention of
being true to myself. I must say though it is not easy accepting one’s reality
huh. But I am working on being a better version of me; someone who listens more
and talks less; someone who is not afraid to apologise and own up to one’s
mistakes. It is not always about having the last word in but about getting to
the goal/resolution/destination the best way possible.
Has this
been something you have been experiencing too? Do share your experience and how
you have been trying to better yourself. I believe this is an inward thing
before it can become about someone else. Thank you for your continued support
and encouragement. Mwah
Lastly onto today's look, I have paired this black and white/cream-white Zara blazer with the yellow skirt which has already made an appearance on the blog before here. I hope you like the look. My style just like my personality is very conservative and simple. Cheers for now
