For someone
who recently discovered a new love in the colour black, I feel like I am a new
me. Not that I have been someone other than my own self all along but I seem to
have found a new and renewed me. I am always striving to have positive outlook
on life and but now I find that I am comfortable with not only having simple and positive conversations with myself but I can also have deeper and scary conversations too.
For a long
time I have been avoiding wearing black as much as I could. Purely because I associated
the colour with all the bad/unfortunate circumstances that happened in my life;
mourning, failure and disappointment and the list can go on and on. Someone
may ask “how does the colour have anything to do with me experiencing
setbacks, is that not a part of life?”
I never
thought in my wildest dreams that I would fall in love with the grey colour. To
me, the colour is associated with a lot with men’s wear especially formal wear
or suits to be precise. Don’t get me wrong, I do know that there are lots of
women’s clothing that come in the grey shade; all I am saying is that the
colour is synonymous with men’s tailored wear. Besides my colours of choice are
blues, browns and reds if I have to choose but grey, not really. After this
though, I am sold on the colour. In fact, I hope to have blogged at least 5 grey
looks by end of winter.
