The Dress That Has Won My Heart
August 19, 2017
Ever so
often we come across those germs that hold a special place in our hearts. This
dress too has made it to the list of some of my favourites also. I bought it
for only a R190 but it does not look nor feel that way. It has taken me to
business and work meetings; even to a funeral and a dinner date. Its cost per
wear has been unparalleled. It has proven that you don’t necessarily have to
pay an arm and a leg to look decent. Many a times I tell my friends and family
that the price tag does not determine how the garment will look on you. The
effort you put in cleanliness and taking care of the garment will surely show
in the eyes of many.
I cannot
lie and say that I do not love finer things in life because I do. Ever since
the country went into recession, and the fact that one’s coin no longer
stretches the extra mile; I have made a decision to make the effort to look
decent without sacrificing much in my finances. I am now learning the value of
living within my means. Hence I want to ensure that I get to sustain my current
lifestyle should God forbid anything happen to me or my loved ones.
On to the
styling of this dress, I paired it with accessories that have made an
appearance on this blog before. These
bronze – olive greenish shoes are a hit with many along with the sister pair
from the same range; the brown ones featured here as well as in many other
posts. It is unfortunate that I bought them in December 2015 and are no longer available
today but there are similar pairs in the market. Working in a corporate
environment has forced me to invest in classic and timeless pieces that can be
worn countless times; be it dressed up or down yet still look put together.
There is an upcoming blog post with some of my favourite shoes, be on the
lookout for that.
