Good day, wonderful people. 2018 hmm, what a year! It has only been a few months but a lot has happened, is happening and I feel like there is still a lot going to happen. Basically, this year has started off with a bang and not in a good way. So far it is has been a year of everything. The great thing that I am seeing is that the challenges I am going through are forcing me to grow closer to God. And for the first time in a long time, I am having a voice; and I am no longer afraid to speak my mind. It is amazing how one challenge can be a blessing in another department in your life. E.g. When my work relationships hit the adjourning stage, my other relationships have hit the performing stage. I feel like as African people, we tolerate a lot for nothing and we end up accepting the injustices as a norm and that is not how things should be. Well, that is a topic for another day where I will share a little bit about challenges in a corporate environment. To those that did not know, I do have a 9-5 job and blogging is a passion that is becoming a business.
Today's post is about how I styled this trench coat. I have had this trench in my closet for about 2 years not and to be honest I have not worn it as much as I thought I would. One of my resolutions for 2018 is to shop more in my closet and wear the items I already have than just buying something new. The other day I was browsing the internet to see what our local stores have in the Coat department and one of the pieces that caught my eye was a suede trench coat from Mr price in a stone colour with brown on the inside. I decided to walk into the store to see it in person before purchasing it. Instead, it looked similar to a trench I already own from David Jones though it is not suede, I still could not justify the purchase. But now Mr. Price brought out the same suede trench in a green colour called Fatigue and I am considering getting it. I have a link here and you can check it out and let me know what you think in the comment section below.
For the next few weeks, I want to see how many times I can wear this brown suede trench coat before I add another one. In all honesty, suede is not a material you can wear all year round in South Africa. The weather is not favorable for such material. But the green one, shush it is calling my name and the price is not bad too. Anyway, back to this trench look, I decided to pair it with a black dress I bought a couple of years back, which I own in another colour and luckily for you it has been featured on the blog here if you want to see the dress on its own. Then to complete the look, I wore these court shoes from Jet. All of these items are things that most of us already have in our closet. I think it is a simple look that is not reinventing the wheel but taking what one has and making it an outfit that can worn to work or even date night.
I hope you have enjoyed this post. Please let me know what you think about suede trench coat and if it is something that you definitely need more than one off in a closet. Cheers for now and see you soon!
